Pursuing the Perfect Pomegranate Pattern for Crochet
It all started with a tweet ...

I bought a crochet pomegranate pattern on Etsy, and made three sets of pomegranates, all different, and never did manage to duplicate the photos in the pattern. It was excruciatingly frustrating. When I searched for photos of other crocheted pomegranates, the only ones that showed up were made from the same etsy pattern I had purchased, and none of them were of the pomegranate half, so while I'm not pleased with what I produced, I'm putting up the pictures anyway, hoping that it will help another adventurous crocheter who attempts the pattern and begins to doubt his or her skills with the hook.

The First Set I Crocheted, Following the Instructions PreciselyTexas Pomegranates, I guess - what should have been 3 inches was more like 7.
Second Set Had Multiple ChangesSmaller hook, different yarns, tighter tension
Found the missing info
Not on the pattern, where you'd expect it, but in the ad copy on Etsy, the thread size is listed as "18 wraps to the inch" ... which is way finer than anything we call "yarn" in the USA.
